Product Manager

Remote or Hybrid · Sydney (Contract)

We're looking for a product manager to lead discovery, strategy and delivery across our client products and our own.

About the role

  • This is a contract role, remote or hybrid from our Sydney studio, and could become part time or full time for the right person. We are open to mid to senior levels of experience.
  • You'll lead product work for startups, scaleups and enterprise clients, from early discovery and strategy through to launch and iteration.
  • You'll also help shape Rally, our own proposal platform, and the ventures we co-create with founders through our equity for services partnerships.
  • Product at UntilNow is AI augmented and outcome driven. You'll use AI tools every day, and help clients work out where AI genuinely belongs in their product.
  • You'll work closely with our founder, product designers and engineers in a small, senior team.

What you will do

The daily life of a Product Manager at UntilNow looks something like this:

  • Lead discovery with clients: stakeholder interviews, user research, competitor and market analysis, and turning what you learn into clear problem statements.
  • Shape product strategy, define outcomes and success metrics, and build roadmaps that balance user value, business goals and technical reality.
  • Write clear briefs, user stories and acceptance criteria that designers and engineers can run with.
  • Run product rituals like kick offs, stand ups, showcases and retros, keeping clients and the team aligned on what we're building and why.
  • Prioritise ruthlessly. Make the call on scope and trade offs, and explain it well.
  • Partner with our product designers on flows, prototypes and testing, and with engineers on feasibility and delivery.
  • Use AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor to speed up research synthesis, spec writing, prototyping and analysis.
  • Run UX and go to market audits that help founders and investors see where a product is winning and where it's leaking.
  • Track what ships and what happens after, using analytics and customer feedback to decide what comes next.
  • Contribute to the roadmap and go to market for Rally.

Your background

  • 4+ years as a product manager, ideally across B2B, SaaS or fintech products
  • Experience in a studio, agency or consultancy, or at a startup where you wore several hats
  • Strong discovery skills, and comfortable running interviews and synthesising research into clear direction
  • A track record of shipping digital products and measuring their impact
  • A close working relationship with designers. You care about UX and can hold your own in a design critique.
  • Enough technical understanding to have credible conversations with engineers about APIs, data and architecture
  • Active use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or similar) as part of your everyday workflow
  • Confident with tools like Notion, Linear or Jira, Figma, and product analytics (Mixpanel, Amplitude, GA4 or similar)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and comfortable presenting to founders and senior stakeholders
  • Self directed and reliable working async with a small team

Nice to haves

  • Experience building AI features or LLM powered products
  • Founder or early stage startup experience
  • Pricing, packaging or go to market experience
  • Comfort prototyping with AI build tools (Claude Code, Lovable, v0 or similar)
  • A background in design or research
