We are looking for a talented brand designer to join our team.
About the role
- This is a contract role but could be turned into part-time or full-time. We are open to mid to senior levels of experience.
- You will have the freedom to work directly with clients
- You will be able to expand your knowledge working on different brands and categories
- You will have design mentorship with a strong feedback and development culture
What you will do
The daily life of a Brand Designer at UntilNow looks something like this:
- Bring brand strategy to life as brand expression and help create brand identities and assets for our clients under the Creative leadership team.
- Brainstorm initial ideas and carry them through to concept development and visualisations - ultimately taking the expression through to a system based on strategy, principles and implementation.
- Be primarily responsible for the visual thrust behind any ideas being presented, but also contribute as much to the strategic thinking and conceptual rationale behind those ideas.
- At times, be the lead creative on particular projects. This requires you to have the basic skills necessary to manage both yourself and the projects of other designers – delivering compelling work from beginning to end.
- Have your finger on the pulse of current trends in the world of design, art, fashion, creativity and culture and bring that inspiration and enthusiasm into the design studio everyday.
- Know when to follow design rules, and when to break them.
Your background
- 4+ years hands-on experience as a Brand Designer with relevant training.
- Has studio, in-house, agency or mixed experience.
- Efficient, detail-oriented, organised, and able to work to deadlines.
- Able to get under the skin of client’s issues - curiosity is good.
- Extremely comfortable in designing and building decks, with the ability to be articulate, confident and assertive in presenting work.
- Strong creative instincts and willingness to push further through experimentation.
- Curious about brands and the positive impact they can have on the world.
- Interested in more than just design! We like well-rounded individuals.
- Ambitious self-starter who can thrive in ambiguity.
- Additional tools or skills are a big plus - let us know if you toy with motion, coding, illustration etc
Salary and Benefits
We’re a small agency looking to work in a better way. We’ve set up home in The Commons, Surrey Hills. It’s a lovely modern space with a huge range of facilities and amenities, including weekly events like yoga, free beer, tea, coffee and breakfasts (twice per week), end-of-trip facilities and much more.
For our team we also offer the following:
- Flexible office days - choose any 2 days of the week to work from home. The other 3 days are with us in The Commons.
- Early or late starts. We know some people work better in the mornings and others in the afternoons. So you have the option of starting an hour earlier or an hour later and finishing up accordingly.
- Remote work. You can work completely remote up to 2 weeks a year.
- $500 to spend per year on anything related to professional improvement such as Figma courses, conferences, events, books and more.
- Team lunches every month at a variety of venues around Surry Hills.
- Employee venture equity. Every full time employee at UN receives equity in every venture we build. This equity proportion is scaled from a basic team level to an increased percentage if you are actively involved on the project.
